Age is all relative…

Here I am in my 64th year and thinking ahead to what a significant year for me will be when I turn 65. In New Zealand the age when you qualify for Superannuation is 65 years and so I will finally have some income coming in. I will be officially a “Pensioner”. I’m not quiteContinue reading “Age is all relative…”

The truth will set you free…

I am a 64 year old woman with Parkinson’s, married to my third husband and very happily so. My first husband was the father of my three children and we separated and ultimately divorced when they were all quite young. We had some challenging years ahead of us, some ill feeling on both sides whichContinue reading “The truth will set you free…”

I’ve got my mojo back!

Those of you who have been following me lately will have noticed – I am sure – that I talk a lot about playing bowls. It was my main rehab goal for both my knee surgery and my recent back surgery. Also, recently I wrote about my disastrous first singles competition in which I wasContinue reading “I’ve got my mojo back!”

One of the most positive things is moving to North Canterbury and buying our lovely house here. ThereContinue reading “Being Social…”

I’m turning into my Mother-in-law… bless her little cottons!

I had the good fortune to become daughter-in-law to a lovely lady by the name of Pat. We got along really well and she could be a bit of a hoot. Also, she was a bit of a sneaky card shark and scrabble player too. But I digress… How am I turning into my Mother-in-law?Continue reading “I’m turning into my Mother-in-law… bless her little cottons!”

A busy weekend…

After a busy week at work, I have gone into the weekend being busy as well. I have had everything from having my hair done on Friday and ordering a new set of bowls, to lunching in town with my husband on Sunday. I have worked in my greenhouse and I have played bowls. IContinue reading “A busy weekend…”
