It seems that marking the passage of time when you are a parent or a grandparent is measured against the lives of the children in our lives. For example, my husband and I moved into our previous home when our oldest granddaughers – who are twins – were two years old. That is 12 yearsContinue reading “Where has the time gone?”

Exercise is Medicine… but I can’t take any…
We are just over a week back from our wonderful UK holiday. I have been buoyed up by all our adventures, but now it is back to the reality of life. Not that this is a bad thing necessarily! One thing that is becoming increasingly difficult for me to manage is the significant pain inContinue reading “Exercise is Medicine… but I can’t take any…”
Parkinson’s disease “What do successful people do to slow down PD progression?” Dr. Laurie Mischley
I found this recommended on a Facebook Page I am a member of. The page itself is one you have to join as a member and it has contributors from both a caring perspective and also from that of a person with Parkinson’s. It is a very positive group and there is a lot ofContinue reading “Parkinson’s disease “What do successful people do to slow down PD progression?” Dr. Laurie Mischley”
Returning to work and sharing my story…
Well, the holiday is over and life is settling back into a normal pattern of working. Already it seems that the holiday is in the distant past and soon it will seem like ages since our big adventure. We have such happy memories though and it has been nice to settle back into work andContinue reading “Returning to work and sharing my story…”
Let’s talk about Parkinson’s… and life and all that means
I’m feeling in a very reflective mood right now. Not exactly sure why, but maybe that’s my brain getting itself ready for work tomorrow? It has been on light duties for the past nine weeks, so I hope it is up to stepping up several gears and doing some proper thinking and decision making! OneContinue reading “Let’s talk about Parkinson’s… and life and all that means”
Home is where the heart is…
Here we are back home again after our epic holiday. It has been an outstanding break away, spending time with my lovely husband one on one and also with friends and relatives we haven’t seen for six years. We woke up this morning for the first time in those nine weeks, in our own bedContinue reading “Home is where the heart is…”
The ‘Last Hurrah Adventure Tour’ concludes….
Today is our last full day and night on our 9 week mega holiday. I have christened this holiday ‘The Last Hurrah Adventure Tour’. This is because in 5-6 years when we have saved up enough to return we will probably not be able to do a lot of the things we’ve been able toContinue reading “The ‘Last Hurrah Adventure Tour’ concludes….”
Unaware of uncoordination…. And other effects.
We have been walking around China Town looking at the various wares and checking out where to have dinner. Not long after getting to China Town I noticed that my body felt very heavy. My legs felt like they didn’t quite want to do what I wanted them to. I also started to feel lightheaded.Continue reading “Unaware of uncoordination…. And other effects.”
Adjusting meds in different time zones is a challenge!
We have now left the UK and have arrived in Singapore for a few days. Being in a different time zone, it makes it difficult to keep to my ‘morning, lunch and dinner routine. Leaving from the UK I took my lunchtime meds at lunch in London. We flew at about 9pm and had dinnerContinue reading “Adjusting meds in different time zones is a challenge!”
UK you’ve been much more than OK….
As we sit at the airport in London getting ready for our flight to Singapore, I reflect on our 9 week holiday. We have spent time with friends and family and precious time too just the two of us. We have had once in a lifetime experiences and revisited some favorite places. We have stayedContinue reading “UK you’ve been much more than OK….”
