Just a little heads up if you are coming to the UK. Many public toilets charge as much as 50p to access them. We are in Fort William in Scotland. Female toilets open but I didn’t have 50p. Plus I object to paying for it! Also of note is that the disabled toilets were locked!Continue reading “50p for a pee!”

Thank you dear husband
For arranging this wonderful holiday… I Thank you For your patience when I ask for what may seem like the 100th time ‘what’s next?’.… Thank you. For reminding me to take my pills when I am busy and might forget… Thank you. For making sure I have my walking stick with me…. Thank you ForContinue reading “Thank you dear husband”
Keep on trying… Don’t give up!
I was reading a post on the Facebook page for people with Parkinson’s. They were talking about how those of us with Parkies sometimes give up things we enjoy due to our condition. Perhaps sometimes I wonder if it is fear of failure or losing face in front of others? She went on to talkContinue reading “Keep on trying… Don’t give up!”
Time to rest before the next adventure…
Right now I am sitting in my sister-in-law’s lounge resting up after a busy week boating. It’s lovely to be back with family and telling them all about our adventures. While I was on the boat I was able to do everything I needed to do and my knee coped very well. Off the boatContinue reading “Time to rest before the next adventure…”
Back on land… Cruising done
Back on dry land and reflecting on a wonderful trip. More adventures to come.
Not so cruisey cruising

Multi-tasking and making memories…
A couple of days into our canal boat holiday and I am reflecting on how things are going. I have taken the risk – or maybe my husband has – of trying my hand at driving the boat from time to time. Boating Buddies…
So today we picked up our canal boat on the Lancaster Canal. We had a bit of a driving lesson – is it driving? – and how to turn the boat and moor it up. We have chugged down the canal for a bit to get to know the boat and have tied up atContinue reading “Boating Buddies…”
Am I anxious?
Starting a new part of our holiday today with a train trip from Leicester to Preston. Tomorrow we pick up a canal boat and have six days on the Lancaster canal just the two of us. On the journey here, we were making our way through the crowds at Preston railway station and I lookedContinue reading “Am I anxious?”
A stile with style…
So today we went to see my sister in-law’s farm in Derbyshire. It is set in lovely English countryside. We decided to go for a bit of a walk around the farm as it’s the first time we had been there. As stated in previous posts I have had a lot of trouble with myContinue reading “A stile with style…”
