This weekend I have had the grandgirls staying again and baking etc. We spent all day baking inside yesterday and as it is a beautiful sunny day today, I got the girls to put down their devices and come outside and play some games. I have a number of wooden outdoor games to play whenContinue reading “A bit of black humour with the grandies…”

The chicken and the egg….
It’s hard sometimes to try and figure out what came first. The problems with Parkies or Arthur (itis) that is! It seems like for several years I have lurched from one health issue to another and things have worsened gradually over time. I watched a presentation by a Parkinson’s association that I follow talking aboutContinue reading “The chicken and the egg….”
Milestones…
Throughout life there are many milestones that we acknowledge and celebrate. Today was a milestone moment for our youngest granddaughter. Her sisters and I took her to have her ears pierced for her 10th birthday. Her Mum and Dad had told her that she had to wait till she was 10 – as had herContinue reading “Milestones…”
Let’s talk about Parkinson’s… and life and all that means
I’m feeling in a very reflective mood right now. Not exactly sure why, but maybe that’s my brain getting itself ready for work tomorrow? It has been on light duties for the past nine weeks, so I hope it is up to stepping up several gears and doing some proper thinking and decision making! Home is where the heart is…
Here we are back home again after our epic holiday. It has been an outstanding break away, spending time with my lovely husband one on one and also with friends and relatives we haven’t seen for six years. We woke up this morning for the first time in those nine weeks, in our own bedContinue reading “Home is where the heart is…”
A tick off the bucket list….
My husband and I have had a few days by ourselves on his sister’s farm. She very kindly said we could make use of the property and she is to come back and join us again tomorrow. Every time I have been to the UK, I have wanted to see a few animals that weContinue reading “A tick off the bucket list….”
50p for a pee!
Just a little heads up if you are coming to the UK. Many public toilets charge as much as 50p to access them. We are in Fort William in Scotland. Female toilets open but I didn’t have 50p. Plus I object to paying for it! Also of note is that the disabled toilets were locked!Continue reading “50p for a pee!”
Back on land… Cruising done
Back on dry land and reflecting on a wonderful trip. More adventures to come.
Boating Buddies…
So today we picked up our canal boat on the Lancaster Canal. We had a bit of a driving lesson – is it driving? – and how to turn the boat and moor it up. We have chugged down the canal for a bit to get to know the boat and have tied up atContinue reading “Boating Buddies…”
Competence and Confidence
A fellow Trust member and I met at a local community radio station yesterday to record a segment for the Trust we belong to. After the recording was finished, we had a bit of a chat with the interviewer about a person she knows who has just been diagnosed with Alzheimers. It seems that hisContinue reading “Competence and Confidence”
