Getting organised

OMG. Technology! Talk about trying to be organised! Tried to get AI to group these photos was a bit of a nightmare.

These are some of the things I use to try and organise my life. The pill box is handy as it has separate compartments to keep the meds together in the right place. Each has an individual lid and a pull tab for easy opening. I take my meds 4 x daily, so this one is perfect for me. I have a label maker, so I have labelled each section, in case someone needs to access my medications for me. I set reminders on my phone to remind me when to take them, but sometimes I still might forget, if someone or something doesn’t prompt me. For some reason, if I am to forget any time of day, it will be lunchtime probably because I am busiest then.

I also have a list of things that I am liable to forget if not prompted in some way. Before now, I have had to backtrack to grab something I have forgotten. Sometimes, I can leave something behind, but if it is my meds or my cellphone, then I have to retrace my steps and pick them up from home.

With my memory not being the best, I find this whiteboard excellent. It is a large magnet which sticks well to the fridge and I can put my activities and appointments on it as well as my husband’s. It is particularly useful as my husband works different shifts every week and so I don’t have to try and remember when he will be working or what time. Being on the fridge is good too, because I am always going into the fridge to get something out.

I purchased the pill box – plus two additional ones in case I lose or break this one – from ‘Temu’ an online store. They give relatively quick delivery, usually about two weeks and are reasonably priced. The magnetic whiteboard I got from Temu too.

What do you use to get organised?

Are you organised?

What do you find hardest to remember?

I find these things very useful and help me to manage my everyday life. I also set reminders on my phone, which usually prompt my husband or my friend to say, ‘It’s time for your meds!’

Life is busy, so my blog has suffered a bit, but it’s good that I am out and about doing things. I catch up when I can and hope the content is useful.

I am a retired Social Worker having retired in May 2024. I had been a Social Worker for over 20 years and for the sake of my health and wellbeing I chose to retire early. I have some literary projects underway and am enjoying the freedom of no longer working. Working on my projects at my own pace and enjoying my new hobby of lawn bowls is a wonderful thing. No regrets and a new kind of busy in retirement is wonderful.
