When is old, old?

I did a podcast yesterday about aging. As in the title, ‘When is old, old?’ The number you have reached chronologically does not necessary reflect your abilities and does not necessarily preclude you from certain activities. As in the case of my selling my e-bike recently at just shy of 64, this was a personal choice based on my many health issues and the risk factors of having a fall off my bike and causing myself more injury. There are plenty of people 64+ who are still perfectly able to continue riding their bikes well pass that age. But for all I care for, that is not me. Attached is a link to my podcast on Spotify giving my thoughts about age and aging.

I am a retired Social Worker having retired in May 2024. I had been a Social Worker for over 20 years and for the sake of my health and wellbeing I chose to retire early. I have some literary projects underway and am enjoying the freedom of no longer working. Working on my projects at my own pace and enjoying my new hobby of lawn bowls is a wonderful thing. No regrets and a new kind of busy in retirement is wonderful.
