Feeling a bit Parkies today

It is unusual for me to notice some fluctuations in symptoms. However, today for the first time I can recall I feel quite Parkies today.

We are currently in Akaroa, staying in a Motel for the night. I got up about 5am because I couldn’t get back to sleep. I also took my medication not long afterwards. I also took a tramadol due to waking up with pain.

We have been walking around quite a bit today. I have noticed that I feel a bit unsteady and a bit shaky, which is disconcerting. I also feel a bit weak.

I’m not used to this and it feels like I have jumped into a time machine and been landed 10 years in the future.

I am not ready for that yet!

Hopefully with some rest I will be ok and I can shake off these thoughts and fears.

I will work on having positive vibes, having a rest and hopefully after that be back to normal.

Just a blip in our lives and I will come through this.

I am a retired Social Worker having retired in May 2024. I had been a Social Worker for over 20 years and for the sake of my health and wellbeing I chose to retire early. I have some literary projects underway and am enjoying the freedom of no longer working. Working on my projects at my own pace and enjoying my new hobby of lawn bowls is a wonderful thing. No regrets and a new kind of busy in retirement is wonderful.

  1. Sorry to hear, sometimes as much as you want to keep up it is a little harder, something has to change. As our PD nurse told us in the very early days “it’s no longer about mindset, it’s about planning”..I have never forgotten this, and have heard her tell others.. it’s quite true.HugsSent from my Galaxy
