To My Darling Grandchildren

A poem written for inside the cover of “Bedtime Stories – Keepsake Collection” for the twins before they were born (and obviously didn’t have names!) – Clio and Jasmine

You haven’t been born yet

       Don’t know who you’ll be

Who’ll ask for a story

       And climb on a knee

I know you’ll have laughter

       I know you’ll have tears

A family who’ll love you

       All through the years

At the end of the day

       When a story is read

You’ll be snuggled up warmly

       And tucked up in bed

Maybe stories of Dragons

       Princesses or Kings

And all sorts of wonderful

       Magical things

Then someone who loves you

       Will kiss you goodnight

And drifting to sleep

       Your dreams will take flight

I know when I heard

       That you were to be

A wonderful dream

       Came true for me

I work in health and have been with the same supportive team for over 7 years. They are all aware of my diagnosis and this helps tremendously especially while I get used to the idea of my diagnosis. My parents both had Parkinsons, so I guess my odds were higher than most.
