Those of you who follow my Blog will have noticed something new crop up. I have started putting some of my poems on here, which I thought I would share. They have been written over several years on a number of topics.
I find they are an outlet for me. They come to me randomly and are not necessarily written on a regular basis. I hope they are of some value to others. They have not been about Parkies – to this point – but may have that subject in the future. Who knows?
Some of them may make you smile. Some may make you sad. I had a variety of emotions when writing them, so I hope they are something others might enjoy.
I have a number of creative people in my family. My son plays the bass guitar, my daughter is very artistic in a number of ways and her children are showing a lot of promise in art. My mother painted and I have a number of her paintings. My cousin is very artistic too. I have always said that the artistic gene passed me by, but perhaps my art is my poetry and now perhaps too my Blog?
I encourage others to seek out and find their creative self. It doesn’t have to be great. It doesn’t have to be shared. Something that helps you either process your feelings or takes you away from thoughts of Parkies and gives you respite from it.
You may find your inner artist, or poet, or Blogger. Who knows till you try?
