An interview with Clair and David

As well as this blog, I also produce two podcasts. One is “My journey with Parkinson’s” and the other “Parkies Patter – a chat about all things Parkinson’s”.

The first podcast is similar to this blog, but with more detail and information included. There are a number of topics explored in the podcast and it is not all exclusively about Parkinson’s, but about my life as a whole and how I manage the various facets of my life.

The second podcast and the most recent is “Parkies Patter – a chat about all things Parkinson’s”. This podcast is not so much about me, as the idea is to give other people living with Parkinson’s a voice. In some cases, where the person with the diagnosis is unable to speak much, or isn’t much of a talker in general, we have negotiated before the interview that their partner does much of the talking. The person with the diagnosis is always present and contributes as much as they wish to ands have the ability to do. The interviews are a way of hearing from different perspectives what Parkinson’s means to them and their lives and how they manage various aspects.

If you have time, do have a listen. The podcasts are available on most streaming platforms including Spotify and Youtube and Apple podcasts.

Here’s a link to the latest one about a couple called Clair and David.

I am a retired Social Worker having retired in May 2024. I had been a Social Worker for over 20 years and for the sake of my health and wellbeing I chose to retire early. I have some literary projects underway and am enjoying the freedom of no longer working. Working on my projects at my own pace and enjoying my new hobby of lawn bowls is a wonderful thing. No regrets and a new kind of busy in retirement is wonderful.
