Update re infection risk concerns….

I am feeling so supported at my work today. I had a meeting with my boss and explained the situation to her about my concerns re infection risk. She listened and was very supportive and agreed I need to minimise risk especially leading up to my operation.

I have asked if I can arrange with the other Social Worker for her to take any patients which pose an infection risk from now on. She agreed. How good is that!

Not only did she agree, but she is going to ask the bigger boss to approve special leave for the week before to further minimise risk before my operation! This would be a week of paid leave. So pleased!

It’s nice to feel valued and supported as I begin the countdown to my operation.

I am a retired Social Worker having retired in May 2024. I had been a Social Worker for over 20 years and for the sake of my health and wellbeing I chose to retire early. I have some literary projects underway and am enjoying the freedom of no longer working. Working on my projects at my own pace and enjoying my new hobby of lawn bowls is a wonderful thing. No regrets and a new kind of busy in retirement is wonderful.
