I have never thought of myself as being particularly creative. My main creativity, however, would always have been my poetry. I have written poems all my life and enjoy the process of producing something fun. I have tried my hand at mosaics and have a couple of items round the house that I have created.
My Mother was very artistic and my daughter has inherited that gene from her too. My cousin is very good at various crafts and has made some amazing things, that I couldn’t possibly even imagine doing. One thing my cousin has over me is that she is good with precision. I have tried to do patchwork quilting, but I just don’t have it in me to make perfect squares, my particular style is much more random. So too, with my mosaics. I can’t do neat rows when I do it. I have done some quite successful mosaics, but my style is to do a picture where I can cut various bits of tile or crockery and the pieces can vary very much in size. That’s how I roll.
I have noticed that in recent times, I am feeling particularly inspired to write poetry, probably more poetry has been written by me in the past few months, than I have written in years. With a brain that’s affected by Parkies it gives me joy to know that I can get it to behave itself long enough to put out some pretty good poetry. Well, who will blow my trumpet if I don’t!!!
My latest thing is using charity shop plates to make china flowers for the garden. I have looked at various ways of doing them. I think I have found a good way to make them and am just waiting for them to have the glue set for a few days, hopefully so that they won’t fall off in the garden!
I must say, I am rather enjoying this new little hobby and am looking forward to seeing them in the garden. I have a few other projects in mind using charity shop china and hopefully they will soon be decorating our garden.
So, Parkies seems to have inspired me to give things a go, that maybe I wouldn’t have dared in the past. Long may I continue to be inspired and hopefully inspire others to find their inner artist in any way they can.

You’re sounding more upbeat. I hope it signifies that you’re feeling better after your “bug”. 🤞Perhaps you could publish your poems on your blog? 🙂

Hi Rebecca. I do put the odd poem on my Blog from time to time. Look up poems and you will see some of my work. Yes, I am feeling much better and back at work. A bit tired still, but at least I only have three days to work this week.
