Getting back into it

Well, The holiday already seems like a distant memory. This week will be my first day back in my previous routine. Husband is back to work yesterday and so we settle back into our normal lives.

Much as we both enjoyed our holiday, we have become ‘homebodies’ more and more in these last few years.

In the last week or so before we came home, I know I was really looking forward to being home again. It is funny the things you miss. I missed cooking a meal for us both. Nothing fancy, just the normal food we have. Preparing a meal in the kitchen is also something I enjoy now too. I especially missed it because we did not self cater at all, which is unusual for us.

So here we are, happily home with priceless memories of our holidays. Some we have captured in photos but mostly just on our minds and hearts.

I am writing this in my car outside the pool. First day back after eight weeks. I hope I remember how to swim! Then it’s off to play Rummikub at the library and then bowls this afternoon. Hope I can keep up with it all!

I am a retired Social Worker having retired in May 2024. I had been a Social Worker for over 20 years and for the sake of my health and wellbeing I chose to retire early. I have some literary projects underway and am enjoying the freedom of no longer working. Working on my projects at my own pace and enjoying my new hobby of lawn bowls is a wonderful thing. No regrets and a new kind of busy in retirement is wonderful.

  1. Welcome home, you have a busy day ahead, but remember how you once struggled with your activities. Enjoy your week (and the cold)RobynSent from my Galaxy
