I know that sleeping is an issue for many of us Parkies folk. I seem to go through phases of having trouble getting to sleep. I also have a reasonably regular pattern of walking up about 3am and reading for a while before going back to sleep.
I suppose that being in a lot of different beds, in a different country may not be helping. I have never been one who can sleep well in a strange bed though!
One thing I have always been good at – especially after getting up early four days a week for work – is sleeping in. I write this post this morning at my sister-in-law’s while my lovely husband sleeps in peacefully. I woke up at 5am and pretty quickly realised further sleep was not happening. I read for about 2 hours then got up and had breakfast about 7pm.
I remember the days not so long ago that my husband and I could blissfully sleep to 9am on a weekend. Ahhh the luxury and bliss of sleeping in.,..
Not so now. My body seems to awaken early and be on high alert. Clear messages are given to me to give up and get up. So, that’s what I do. Leave my sweetly sleeping husband to his peaceful slumbers and quietly get up and make myself a cuppa.
How I miss those luxurious weekend sleep-ins. Perhaps they will return one day when we are back home in our own bed and back to our routines.
I can so relate to that. I am often awake at stupid o’clock. I normally get up to. My time out for myself and catch up on a movie that I can watch in peace.

It’s a bit of a pain isn’t it! At home I sometimes seem to wake up about 3am. Or I have been to bed and still awake at that time. My husband works shift work, so sometimes comes home to find me watching one of my programmes I have recorded. Thank goodness for Netflix!!!
