To my love…

Will you hold my hand when I’m old and gray?

Will you hold my hand when I’m old?

Will you kiss my lips as you do today?

If I may make so bold…

Will you look with love in these eyes of mine…

When age begins to show?

Will you drink with me that sweet red wine…

And share the candles glow?

Will you share my bed at the end of day…

And be there when I awake?

Will you love me dear, when I’m old and gray…

Will you soothe me when I ache?

Will you see beyond my wrinkled face…

Or if I’m old and bent?

Will you love me dear when I slow my pace…

And my energy is spent?

Will you be with me, when I laugh or cry…

Will you be with me when I smile?

Will you stay with me as the years go by…

Will you stay with me a while?

Will you love me dear, as you do today…

As the passing years unfold?

Will you hold my hand when I’m old and gray?

Will you hold my hand when I’m old?

I am a retired Social Worker having retired in May 2024. I had been a Social Worker for over 20 years and for the sake of my health and wellbeing I chose to retire early. I have some literary projects underway and am enjoying the freedom of no longer working. Working on my projects at my own pace and enjoying my new hobby of lawn bowls is a wonderful thing. No regrets and a new kind of busy in retirement is wonderful.
