Getting the best help for me…

As I have often said in my blog and in my podcast, although those of you reading this blog and listening to my podcasts may have some similarities, as individuals no two people have exactly the same experience.

With my recent experience of being coached by someone that was a “my way or the highway” kind of trainer, I am even more determined to seek out and take the opportunity to have some really good training.

It is important to find someone to coach/train you in whatever situation you are in, that coaches you as an individual, in the unique way you need to be worked with. Assistance will only be effective if it is tailored to our needs, not from a book that says that everything must always be in a prescribed manner. Not that there shouldn’t be some kind of rule book, but common-sense often seems to be a stranger when there are some contentious issues to be dealt with. Some will take the easy road and go along with whatever they are given in the way of training. Some will stand up from the beginning and challenge the trainers/coaches to tailor their teaching to individuals not just a one size fits all way of looking at things.

Here’s my podcast to listen to about some points in relation to receiving coaching.

I am a retired Social Worker having retired in May 2024. I had been a Social Worker for over 20 years and for the sake of my health and wellbeing I chose to retire early. I have some literary projects underway and am enjoying the freedom of no longer working. Working on my projects at my own pace and enjoying my new hobby of lawn bowls is a wonderful thing. No regrets and a new kind of busy in retirement is wonderful.
