Trying to be a patient patient!

My life has been in upheaval for some time now. Not least of which is the fact that I am having to use a walker or a stick to get around. Hopefully, this is a temporary situation, and I can at least ditch the walker.

I had just under a week in hospital and knowing how things work in a hospital setting – having worked in one – I was probably more aware of how things are usually done. This could be both a blessing and a curse.

I was shocked not to receive any documentation on discharge, as this is usually the guide for a patient’s recovery. As a result, I have been trying to get answers and have been frustrated by the lack of responsiveness in getting those answers.

So, my podcast pretty much stems from my frustration and feeling that I did not know how to rehabilitate fully post discharge without the appropriate documentation.

Here’s my Podcast on my experiences as a hospital patient.

I am a retired Social Worker having retired in May 2024. I had been a Social Worker for over 20 years and for the sake of my health and wellbeing I chose to retire early. I have some literary projects underway and am enjoying the freedom of no longer working. Working on my projects at my own pace and enjoying my new hobby of lawn bowls is a wonderful thing. No regrets and a new kind of busy in retirement is wonderful.
