My caring husband – not my carer…An interview

After calling for people to be interviewed about their experiences as a PWP or a supporter, I decided I should lead by example. My husband Ade very kindly volunteered – or was conscripted – to be my interviewee.

What follows in the interview is a confirmation of what I already knew. That I am so blessed to be supported by this wonderful man, who knows when to look after me, when to let me try for myself and most importantly of all, what he needs to look after himself amongst all my health challenges.

I am a retired Social Worker having retired in May 2024. I had been a Social Worker for over 20 years and for the sake of my health and wellbeing I chose to retire early. I have some literary projects underway and am enjoying the freedom of no longer working. Working on my projects at my own pace and enjoying my new hobby of lawn bowls is a wonderful thing. No regrets and a new kind of busy in retirement is wonderful.
