Why I think I’m qualified to talk about Parkinson’s

I am the third person in the family to have Parkinsons. Both my Mum and Dad had Parkinsons and I supported them in their journeys. Now, I have Parkinsons and was Diagnosed on 15/12/20. In addition, I have 20 years of experience in working with people with various health issues, including health issues relevant to degenerative conditions.

I thought it might be useful to know that I have personal and professional knowledge that I bring to the podcasts. I am also going to have various professionals that I interview and put on this podcast.

I have already interviewed a lawyer about Wills and Enduring Power of Attorney. They are well worth a listen. Even with my 20 years of experience, I learned something.

I am a retired Social Worker having retired in May 2024. I had been a Social Worker for over 20 years and for the sake of my health and wellbeing I chose to retire early. I have some literary projects underway and am enjoying the freedom of no longer working. Working on my projects at my own pace and enjoying my new hobby of lawn bowls is a wonderful thing. No regrets and a new kind of busy in retirement is wonderful.
