Today is our last full day and night on our 9 week mega holiday. I have christened this holiday ‘The Last Hurrah Adventure Tour’. This is because in 5-6 years when we have saved up enough to return we will probably not be able to do a lot of the things we’ve been able to do on this trip.
As a little aside the idea of a ‘Last Hurrah’ had become a joke between my husband and I. When we have gone on holiday and overindulged, we have on many occasions said, ‘this is our last hurrah before we go home and go on a diet!’ It has become somewhat of an in-house joke!
We have made so many memories and had so many adventures. We have met up with family and friends. I have pushed myself to do as much as I can, even though at times there has been quite a lot of pain. This has been an amazing holiday but even so I am ready to fly home tomorrow. My husband too is looking forward to it.
Today we spent the day on Sentosa Island in Singapore. It has a number of activities, but we went to experience Universal Studios and the rides they have there. We climbed up and down stairs, into and out of rides and walked around the vast lot from ride to ride. Some of the rides looked terrifying, so we went on a couple of roller coasters and other rides, but nothing really hard core!
As we walked around I realized that in another 5-6 years it would probably be unlikely that either of us would be able to do many of the things we did today. Another factor is that it is incredibly expensive. If we’re retired, it may not fit in a pensioner’s budget either! All things that need to be considered.
We also went to some lovely gardens yesterday, so I’ve included a few pictures of our Singapore stopover.
So here’s to ‘The Last Hurrah Adventure Tour’ and all the memories it has given us.
And hurray we’re going home!

Looks to be a great “last Hurrah”!
